Space NK Haul

Space NK Haul

I made my first visit to Space NK a few months back and thought I would share my thoughts on the products I purchased and the experience in store.

Now I like to shop ALOT!!! I can happily spend a whole day or weekend traipsing back and fourth to every shop I pass spending around 10 minutes or so in each but Space NK is the one place where I could spend flippin hours- as I did this day, much to the disappointment of my cousins boyfriend who ended up almost falling asleep on one of the shops chairs, whilst I dragged my cousin from counter to counter with excitement!

Algenist Multi-Perfecting Pore Corrector Gel Moisturiser

First up on my wish list was a moisturiser and Algenist was the brand I was gravitating towards. I had read up on the brand quite a bit before visiting the store and as well as the positive reviews the main thing that interested me was the many ingredients that the moisturiser contains including Alguronic Acid and salicylic acid, which claims to have significant anti-aging properties and brighten dull skin. I went for the Multi-Perfecting Pore Corrector Gel Moisturiser, which is oil free and perfect for my skin type. I have been using this moisturiser for about 1 month now and have noticed a difference in my skin, it's brighter and feels hydrated throughout the day. It also provides a great basis for my makeup too. It retails for £50 for a 60ml pot which I know is quite expensive for a moisturiser but I have been very impressed with the quality of the product.

Eve Lom Cleanser

The second skincare purchase was Eve Lom's Cleanser, which smells divine and feels very luxurious on the skin. You literally need the tiniest amount and on first application it feels like it has an almost exfoliator type feel but the granules instantly smooth out and the product becomes like an oil on the skin. I use this to remove my makeup with a muslin cloth, when I apply it I leave the product to work into the skin for around 2 minutes and then using warm water remove my makeup. I find it a little heavy to use as a morning cleanser so tend to use this only in the evenings but so far I am really happy with it.

Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer

I had never tried any products from Hourglass before but since purchasing this, I now have several things on my wish list (including their ambient light powders and blush/bronzer duo palettes!!!) This primer feels like silk when applied, is waterproof, contains SPF 15 and provides a beautiful base for my foundation.

By Terry Cover Expert Foundation

I love this foundation!!! The finish, texture and coverage is beautiful and as a bonus, like all By Terry products has a rose scent which I love :) I was really torn between this and the sheer expert but I loved the finish of this just as much and with autumn fast approaching I thought this would serve me better.
The foundation is described as achieving a  'flawless-velvet radiance' and I think this sums up the foundation completely. Despite the coverage the foundation still feels very light and a little goes a long way- if you are passing a Space NK store definitely check this out :) Let me know if you would like to see some pictures of the foundation in a makeup of the day post.

Thank you so much for reading and let me know if your space NK wish lists :)

My Current Top 5 Highlighters

Highlighters are one of my favourite makeup items, anything that aims to give your face that 'lit from within' look or healthy summer glow is a defo for me!! I'm always trying out new highlighters but these 5 are the ones that I always seem to grab for and have become firm favourites for me.

Jemma Kidd Dewy Glow All Over Radiance Cream

First up is Jemma Kidd's all over radiance cream- a beautiful cream highlighter that gives a beautiful sheen to the skin. This is not at all over powering but when it catches the light gives you that wonderful healthy glow. Every time I wear this all my girlies comment on my skin and ask what I'm wearing which makes me feel that it's living up to its job very well :) Unfortunately Jemma Kidd is no longer making her makeup range which is soo sad as her products are amazing but if you can get your hands on any that are lingering around online I would snap it up and give it a try. I stocked up as soon as I heard. My favourite of the 2 shades is the Rose Gold, however the Ice Gold is equally as beautiful, though may be more suitable for fairer skin.

Dior Amberdiamond
Next up is Diors Amberdiamond, I've posted about this before and it's such a hyped product in the beauty world and for good reason. The golden pinky shades work beautifully together and would compliment many skin tones. I love swirling all the shades together and popping them on the apples of my cheeks and sweeping them across the cheekbones. It's gorgeous and the packaging alone feels luxurious :) It's not very shimmery and is very subtle but succeeds in giving you that healthy glow-definitely one to try if your passing a counter any time soon.

Mac Mineralise Skinfinish in Smooth Merge
Again this is limited addition but I'm always on the look out for it online or if they bring it out with another collection. This has been a favourite of mine for ages, the colours, pigmentation and way it sits on the skin is gorgeous!! The lightest shade of pink is a bit similar to Macs Porcelain Pink that they just brought back in the recent Apres Chic collection but is a little more vibrant. I usually wear this at the top of the cheekbones. The dark pink shade is equally as beautiful and again very pigmented, you only need the tiniest amount and the pay off is incredible. The golden colour is also a very wearable shade, personally when I wear these colours all swirled together and the pay off is incredible-however if your not one for too much shimmer then go for the Dior as this does have quite a bit running through it, as with most of the msfs.

Mac Creme Colour Base in Hush and Impropper Copper
You can't really go wrong with MAC cream colour bases, they are very easy to wear and have a few different shades to choose from depending on your skin tone. I love impropper copper because of its subtle coral undertones that highlight the skin with the warm golden subtle shimmer. Check them out next time you sweep past a MAC counter and select the best shade for your skin tone.

Estee Lauder Pure Colour Illuminating Powder Gelee
This highlighter was brought out with the Modern Mercury collection and the formula is their wonderful powder gelee formulations. I am in love with these formulas, the pigmentation and pay off on the skin. This was the first of these formulations I tried out and it did not disappoint. The colour is a rose gold shade and can be worn heavy or light depending on what you prefer. It looks amazing on the skin and would be very complimentary on many skintones. They tend to bring out many of the powder gelee formulations with their collections and they are definitely worth checking them out, I've got a couple of their eyeshadows and the bronzes sands palette and they are equally as beautiful.

Let me know your top 5 highlighters :) Next on my wish list is Hourglass Illume highlighter and bronzer duo xxxxx

Topshop Eye Makeup

I talked about these topshop beauties in a haul at the beginning of the year and since trying them out for the what feels like the longest month of January I am still as impressed as when I first swatched them in store.

Lets begin with the eye crayon in the colour mystical, a gorgeous shimmery taupe colour. It's so soft and pigmented and doesn't budge when I apply it so you need to get blending quickly when you apply it but staying power is impressive. This shade would suit all eye colours and is so easy to wear, I like to wear it all over the lid with Macs antiqued in the crease as the colours really compliment each other. These little beauties are £6.50 and worth every penny. I already have marble on my list a gorgeous shimmery rose gold colour that looks like a great all over lid colour.

Next up is Topshops eye kohl in the colour Saddle, a beautiful rich brown with a small glimmer of gold running through it. I initially wasnt intending on picking up a brown eye kohl, I always wear black in my waterline as my eyes are quite dark but I swatched this beauty and the slight golden undertone had me sold. Again its really creamy and pigmented and the lovely rich colour would look stunning on all eyes, especially thoses beautiful light eyed girlies. I like to wear this along my lash line to compliment my eyeshadows and usually wear it with a golden colour and sometimes use it on the lid. These bargain beauties are only £4, which I think is amazing for the pay off you get. If your passing a Topshop anytime soon definitely give the makeup range a swatch, I'm going to check out the lip products next :)

Lots of Love xxxxx

The Cream Shadow Post

My latest buy from Laura Mercier reminded me of my love for cream eyeshadows. Since its been windy and cold my cream shadows have been a little buried under my collection but I have recently brought them back to light and have been wearing them everyday. The first up is Laura Merciers Burnished Copper Metallic Creme Eyeshdow (and take a breath...) This is so gorgeous, I fin it easy to work with as its creamy and easy to blend. Its so pigmented, the smallest amount goes a long way and the colour is beautiful. If you like your brown shadows with a bit of shimmer this is one for you!! It has a slight red undertone to it which I love and it can be worn really pigmented in colour or blended out for a sheer finish for an easy to wear everyday shade. The shimmer running through it is really subtle so can be worn on a night out or just as an everyday colour blended out over the lid-either way you need to check these shadows out if your an eyeshadow fan :)

Next up is another of Laura Mercier Metallic creme shadows this time in rose gold. This shade is another gorgeous one and if your a big fan of the colour this sweeps over the lid beautifully. Similarly to burnished copper it can be worn very pigmented or blended out to look more subtle. I cant wait to wear this shade throughout the summer as I think it will look lovely with a tan.

Digging into my makeup collection for more creme shadows I  found Mac's paint pot in the shade constructivist. This is quite a dark brown with a bit of shimmer, like many of the Mac paint pots this lasts forever and doesn't move when it's on the lids. I love to wear this is the crease or all over the lid for a dramatic eye on a night out. It's not as easy to blend as the Laura Mercier ones as it sets quickly but as long as you work with it as soon as applied the effect and pay off is excellent.

The final paint pot pictured is Mac groundwork, which is a brilliant everyday neutral colour, really easy to wear and great as a base too.

I've inserted a photo below wearing Laura Merciers burnished copper over the lids just so you get an idea of the colour pay off.

The next on my cream shadow list to try out is Chanel Ebouli, a gorgeous red shad and Emmerveille, a peachy golden shade. I also think I may have to check out some of the new ones that have just been released by Estee Lauder.
Let me know what your fave cream shadows are :)
Lots of Love xxxxxx
